Feature item Folder!
Hello! following the suggestions, I always had the Feature Item folder empty (prevent writing), only, when I install the skmpacks from the launcher, it gets full again! maybe, because in the launcher I have the switched on login of my EA profile? can i also install simpacks from the launcher without logging in?

When you run the game, or install any Sims3Pack files (which still runs TS3.exe/TS3W.exe), the game will fill that folder with the images as long as it can connect to the internet. AFAIK your specific connection to the EA account doesn't matter.
You can disable write access for your user to that folder, or you can add a Windows Firewall rule that disables internet connection for TS3.exe/TS3W.exe depending on your TS3 version. I personally use the firewall because I don't care about in-game login. If you care, disabling permissions is the best option.
Here's a guide for folder permissions: https://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2011/12/t ... tures.html

There's another sneaky and very effective way to manage this, for those interested.
1 - Delete the FeaturedItems folder and its contents entirely.
2 - Create and save a text document called "FeaturedItems" using your favorite application (Notepad, MS Word, TextEdit, it really doesn't matter).
3 - By default, the new document will have a file extension like .txt, .rtf, or whatever. With your operating system set to display file extensions, rename the file so that the dot-file extension part is removed.
4 - Move this renamed file into your TS3 user game folder, where the FeaturedItems folder previously was.
The game cannot store items inside a file (rather than a folder) no matter what permissions are being used, and it won't create a new folder for this purpose since there is already an item with exactly the same name in place.
That won't stop the game from using however much in the way of time and resources it does to try and populate FeaturedItems, but it will always fail to actually accomplish its task since it's tricked into thinking what is already there is the correct folder when it really isn't.
